With Taste of Dublin coming up on June 12-15 in the Iveagh Gardens, we're very excited to be able to offer one lucky winner two tickets to the Friday afternoon session, with special thanks to Electrolux! The winner will receive two tickets to the Friday afternoon (12-4pm) session, with entry to the Taste of Dublin as well as the private Secret Ingredient live and interactive cooking demonstration.
With close to 100 years of culinary expertise designing professional appliances for Europe’s best chefs, Electrolux introduces ‘Secret Ingredient’ to Taste of Dublin 2014. This new interactive cooking demonstration will offer visitors an unforgettable sensory experience involving sound, smell, touch and taste, using naturally sourced and matched seasonal ingredients. Hosting just 20 guests per session, the live attraction will see the Electrolux professional chef reveal his best-kept culinary secrets, offering tips on the latest techniques and showing how to get the best out of quality produce, and visitors will be encouraged to share theirs too; a favourite recipe handed down from generations or the best produce from their home town.
Brought to the festival by headline sponsors Electrolux, Secret Ingredient will showcase its new oven, the SousVide CombiSteam Oven, which takes steam cooking to the next level. Sous-vide, which means ‘under vacuum’ in French, provides a cooking environment like no other; an environment where flavours and textures can flourish for truly melt-in-the-mouth results. Mixing ingredients such as herbs and marinades together with fish or meat then vacuum-sealing maximises the infusion of flavours and preserves nutrients. The use of slow and low-temperature steam cooking then allows intense flavours and aromas to develop.
