Introducing House and Home's New Issue!

We're very excited that our latest House and Home is almost at your doorsteps and on your local newsstand! You should have it in hand later this week, so we wanted to bring you a little glimpse of the cover and some info on what's inside from our editor, Dara Flynn.

Autumn is a time of year when we all crave a bit of cosy (or what the Danes refer to as 'hygge') so you'll find there's a certain warmth to every real home in this issue, even the monochromatic high-contrast Scandinavian pile where black is surprisingly welcoming.

Speaking of which, black is officially the new white and autumn's trends are all sotty and mysterious. We've selected some of the best examples on page 14.

There's plenty of colour too, and this issue we couldn't resist showing you Sam's home, a place where blank white walls are a canvas for riotous colour thanks to her beuatifully curated vintage accessories and fabrics. Surely it's impossible to be anything but happy here. In Dublin's city centre, meanwhile, Diane's pint-sized period terrace has been cleverly redesigned to fit everything she needs with swathes of mid-century style and lovely honey woods. We've headed pretty far north to a lakeside home in Sweden that challenges the preconceptions we hold in Ireland about colour use in a grey climate. And in Ardmore, we visit a cabin built according to boat construction principles, and lined with all the cosy character of a vernacular Irish cottage.

We've produced a handy extra mag in this issue: a 32 page guide to heating, showcasing the latest stoves, ranges and fires as winter approaches. Meanwhile our main advice section looks closely at tiles and wall decoration, plus there's sour guide to the very finest Irish designs on the current market.

Now, go get you House and 'Hygge' on!

You'll find us in shops later this week and online anytime.
