Before you start...
- Visit a number of showrooms to get ideas of what you like and look through magazines for inspiration.
- Measure your space carefully marking the position of windows, doors and other immoveable objects. Pieces that look great in a large showroom can cramp a domestic space.
- Check your walls: are they solid or stud walls? It’s necessary to know this if thinking of having a wall hung basin that’ll need a solid wall to support it.
- Check the water pressure: this is crucial to the installation of power showers and new taps, as a booster pump may be required to maximise performance
- Check the positioning of existing pipe work. The way in which it is positioned (i.e. through the floors or the walls) will have an impact on your product selection.
