What's Christmas without lights? Granted, usually we're talking fairy lights, but all lighting plays a role. Joining us on this week of festive fun, Mullan Lighting has given us a beautiful light to give away to one lucky reader, worth €390+.
The Lambeth pendant is up for grabs - part of Mullan Lighting's first every collaboration with sustainable luxury pioneer Elvis and Kresse, a London-based company that manufacture leather goods from rescued fire hose and leather off-cuts from luxury brands like Burberry, greatly reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfill. If that wasn't enough, Elvis and Kresse also share 50% of their profits with charities. The Lambeth pendant would find a home in any room - it is beautiful.
In fact, Mullan Lighting's design credentials are second to none. Everything is created, designed and hand-crafted on site in Mullan Mill, and each item is custom made, even the in-house carpenter makes all the boxes for packaging onsite. Each Mullan light is hand-finished and painted, making all their lights individual and unique with their range varying from vintage luminaires to timeless classics.
Originally set up by Mike Treanor in 2009, it was a one-man operation in an abandoned mill in Monaghan that has since expanded hugely. Their focus is on product quality, innovative design and flexibility of manufacture. A request to make church chandeliers proved a big break for Mullan Lighting. Within six years their product quality and speed of manufacture became recognised more and more and they became the lighting supplier for Google, Legoland, Superdry and even the Royal Family. Yep - you could have the same lights as the queen!
