Dublin restaurant favourite Peploe's on Stephen's Green reopened earlier this month after some major refurbishment, and to celebrate, they've given us a fabulous pre-theatre meal for two, with a cocktail each from the new menu, worth €100, to give away!
Peploe's closed its doors in late July to start the works, and opened again three weeks later with a totally new look and feel to the interiors. They've got the same steady commitment to service and food, but now with a chic, contemporary New York brasserie meets old world elegance feel. It's a Dublin-based take on the feel of world-renowned restaurants like Brasserie Lipp in Paris, and it's totally gorgeous.
“Out with the old in with the new,” said Barry Canny, Peploe's restaurant's owner. "Always be current. Plus, it’s time to celebrate Dublin City being returned to people after 2.5 years of constant upheaval with LUAS works”.
They now have a full alcohol license so they've launched a new cocktail menu, which our lucky winners will get to sample. As well as the A La Carte dinner menu, executive chef Neil Mulholland has also put a renewed focus on their vegetarian and vegan offering, which he feels especially passionate about and has plans to develop further.
The wine list is also carefully considered, with all the wines Pepeloe's serves being imported directly from Europe. General Manager Frederic Pelanne has developed a great relationship with wine growers in Italy and France, which assists him in curating his unique offering for discerning diners in Dublin.
Fois Gras, pan seared and terrine with yuzu, fermented walnuts and toasted brioche.
Wild halibut with brown shrimp crust, seared scallops and 40c tomatoes.
Chocolate tart.The Book of Jammet, from the famous Dublin restaurant of that name, featuring the autographs of John Lennon, Grace Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor, is on public display for the first time in 30 years, in Peploe's. It was purchased at auction for €12,000 by Barry around 12 years ago.
Make a night of it in the city with the early bird pre-theatre menu (which finishes at 6.15pm). Relax and enjoy your three course dinner complete with tea/coffee and a cocktail from the just launched menu, with plenty of time to take in a show/play afterwards.
