It's a new year and with it comes a whole new set of decorating trends - always one of our favourite things about January. In the new issue (out now interiors fans!) we've got a look at five new inspiring palettes for your home for the next 12 months. First up? Brand New Vintage.
When interiors doyenne Orla Kiely produces a line of new retro-styled pieces (above), it’s clear we’re in for at least another season of retro. Think sleek, well-tailored furniture with strong mid-century leanings, fresh patterns with a 1960s feel and old-style coffee pots, graphic-printed bowls and a renewed love for the geometric. Kiely’s new House range went on sale in early December and hits selected Irish stockists in the New Year. Orlakiely.com.
Of course, you'll pay a pretty penny for Kiely's designer duds. We reckon you can get the look for a lot less on Pickit, our fab social sharing and shopping site. Here are three retro finds we'd be delighted to have in our house and home.
- This atomic table is a mid century-era find from Mungo + Midge's Pickit shop. Sourced in Berlin it's typical of the 1950s and at just €42, well, we might just have to indulge
- A classic, this Leff Amsterdam clock is like a watch on the wall. It's yours for €115 from Industry's Pickit shop.
- Metal and wood, Retrorumage have upcycled this fablous 1950s desk for a brand new vintage feel by painting the drawer fronts bright block colours. We love it. You can too for €395 on their Pickit store.
Have you checked out Pickit yet? You're missing out if not: Packed full of the best home interiors accessories, furniture and decorating accessories from more than 120 Irish stores and webshops, it's a must-visit for deco fans.
