A House and Home promotion
If there's a room in the home where it is important to feel relaxed, it’s the bathroom. For anyone who lives in a busy household, this the one place where you can grab a bit of me-time, therefore it’s essential it should have a chilled-out vibe. There’s nothing like a break by the sea to calm both body and soul, so it’s no wonder that Duravit has used this as the inspiration for its new bathroom collection, Soleil by Starck.
Once again partnering with world-famous designer Philippe Starck, Duravit is evoking the air of a day at the beach with its new collection. Soleil by Starck comprises washbasins, toilets and baths, whose distinctly subtle lines create a natural and carefree atmosphere. Not only that, but the new pieces have an attractive price point, and are compatible with a wide range of Duravit furniture and brassware. As such, Soleil by Starck is a flexible solution for any budget or style of bathroom. We’re delighted to team up with Duravit as our Partner of the Month to present Soleil by Starck. Read on to find out more about this timelessly modern new collection.
Sand dunes shaped by the wind were the inspiration for the gentle contours of the basins. Available in four widths, the Soleil by Starck basins also offer a variety of options from wall-hung to countertop. This countertop model (above) shows the balanced proportions between the bowl of the basin and tap platform.
The new collection includes built-in baths and countertop basins. The basins are designed to work with a wide range of Duravit's furniture, and here (above) the basin is shown with a wall-hung vanity unit from the D-Neo collection in Oak Terra.
Soleil by Starck can be configured for any bathroom, as this compact basin for cloakrooms shows (above left) – it measures just 450 x 380mm. Shown (above right and below left) is the furniture basin with Duravit’s XSquare wall-hung vanity unit in White Matt.
The refined design of the collection extends to the Soleil by Starck toilets too. For example, the slim soft-close lid has a delicate, slightly protruding easy-grip lid. Meanwhile, all wall-mounted models feature Duravit’s HygieneFlush, which thoroughly cleans the entire inner surface of the bowl with just 4.5 litres of water. In addition, the HygieneGlaze ceramic glaze kills some 90 percent of pathogens within six hours, and 99.9 percent after 24 hours.
Philippe Starck has transferred the soft curves of the outer rim of the washbasins to the design of the Soleil by Starck baths. The elegant and affordable baths come in acrylic (built-in models) and DuraSolid composite mineral material (freestanding). Meanwhile, the smooth design of the baths means they are very easy to clean. The oval freestanding bath (above) is 1600mm long, making it a beautiful focal point even in smaller bathrooms.
