Roll up, roll up, for the 2011 Interior Design and Art Fair at Dublin’s RDS, from May 13-15. Celebrating their Year of Craft, the Crafts Council of Ireland are styling an entire room at the event, furnished using the work of their members – a brilliant showcase for good quality Irish design. Who needs Milan?
Sanderson / Zoffany and William Morris & co are teaming up with a massive showcase, with an emphasis on the works of Morris himself given this year is the 150th anniversary of the establishment of Morris design firm. Michael Parry – a Morris expert, author and curator – will be in attendance, and visitors can browse the very best of the Arts and Crafts movement.
This year is the third year of the The Cream of Irish Design – and its head honcho, Shane Holland, is back again with all his enthusiasm for established and up and coming makers – expect some brand new pieces and interesting design directions you might not have expected.
It’s going to be a great show, and a big one for the interiors-obsessed. See you there...
