Theresa Himmer, the Danish street artist with a twist, is inspired by her interaction with the Icelandic landscape. Waterfalls, glaciers and volcanos are made from large discs strung from plywood and positioned on the side of buildings for the most effective light hitting results.
The artist says:
The sequin system is a hyper commercial product that comes from the world of advertising and display... Witin this context, the sequin's constant movement and flickering is desirable as a means of catching the consumers eye. Meanwhile I was interested in how these visual qualities also recall how landscapes respond to changes in wind and light.
