IKEA have just announced that they will be launching the new all-in-one home entertainment range UPPLEVA this Autumn. The range will feature entertainment units in a range of colours and finishes with integrated flat screen HD TVs, Blu-ray, USB ports and a bay for game consoles and other techy gadgets. They have cleverly come up with a way of concealing the gazillion wires that we all have tried to hide behind our TVs and it will also rule out the need for seperate Blu-ray players and DVD players stacked on top of each other cluttering up the space. And it is all controlled by one (instead of four) remote. No more unplugging of wires, tearing our hair out and looking for the remote!
The Swedish furniture company plans to sell the TV system this autumn in a handful of European countries, which sadly doesn't include Ireland - it might not arrive on Irish shores until the 2013 worldwide launch date. We'll just have to wait and see.
The base model will cost SEK 6,500 (around €735) - would you consider buying an one? Tell us in a comment.
