It took seven years and a stint in a mobile home, but it was all worth it. In the current issue, Síle Seoige shows us around her new home – here's a sneak peak

Homeowner: TV presenter, Síle Seoige, husband Damien and their two children, Clíodhna and Cathal.
The house: A five-bedroom detached new-build with sea views on the coast in Spiddal, Co Galway.
When their son was only four months old, Síle's husband Damien spotted a site for sale in the newspaper. One of several lots being sold was in Síle’s native village of Spiddal, across from the beach. The couple had been in discussions about where to raise their family for some time. “We wanted them to have a country childhood, like we had; the question was where,” says Síle.
With land so close to the village and the beach a rarity, they quickly placed a bid, securing a plot. But like all house-builds, it was not for the faint-hearted. “There were lots of stressful moments,” she tells me laughing. “We had a brilliant builder but it was not straightforward.” Securing planning permission for what would be a five-bedroom house, complete with downstairs office, kitchen, living room, utility and pantry, was the easy part. Enter Covid, a worldwide pandemic, and everything stopped...
